Mary Lou specializes in tax compliance and planning for individuals and small to medium sized partnerships, C & S Corporations, tax-exempt organizations, and trusts. Her focus is on creating a methodical path to filing and payment compliance, while pursuing improvement to the processes and systems involved to eliminate surprises and deploy tax-saving strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Additionally, Mary Lou leverages her experience with the IRS to reduce, recognize, and resolve issues with tax agencies for e2E clients.
Her 20+ years of experience includes serving as Tax Manager for firms in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, and Jacksonville, FL. Mary Lou managed finance and accounting operations for 3 Axis Inc., a Kansas City design and fabrication company, utilizing her insightful experience to know and understand the opportunities and challenges of operating and growing a small business through economic calm waters as well as stormy seas. Her career started at the IRS, as a Revenue Agent, Taxpayer Advocate, CPE writer and presenter. Mary Lou holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
Outside of work, Mary Lou enjoys spending time with family. She is currently helping her father restore a 1940 Ford truck. Vacations generally involve riding horses and listening to live music wherever she goes. She also mentors youth on the topic of personal finances and serves as an advisor and board member to tax-exempt arts organizations; Emergent Arts in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Flying Saucer Presents in Jacksonville, Florida.
