Meet Kevin Smith

Kevin’s accounting skills have allowed him to learn and be challenged in several industries, including real estate and health care.

He has also held various manufacturing accounting positions, from working with sales on the initial orders to helping ship the product out the door. As an accounting manager/controller, Kevin has also worked closely with upper management on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Through his varied experience, Kevin has come to appreciate the importance of accurate data and demonstrated an ability to explain the numbers to different departments.

In one rewarding project, when he was working as the controller for a family-owned real estate company, Kevin handled the purchase of a 19,000-square-foot building for an office/event space. The building was in pre foreclosure, and after the sale, Kevin worked with the architect on a redesign and handled construction bids.

Kevin still lives in his hometown of Blue Springs, Missouri, which allows him to stay close to his family members, who have also remained in the Kansas City area. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

His interests outside of work include volunteering with his family at a church food pantry. He also enjoys working out, golfing, reading, playing the guitar, and swimming in the summertime.

The activities of his two children keep him busy as well.
